Vilva leaf – natural medicine | reduce sugar level is prepared using the leaves of Bael / Bilva / Vilva (Tamil) which is a sacred tree and will be seen in most ancient Shiva temples. These leaves and fruits were used for Pooja in Shiva temples. This drink helps to drive away cold and flu and increases immunity, Other medicinal recipes are
- water – 2 cups
- vilvam leaves – handful
- cumin powder / seeraga thool – 1/2 tsp
- pepper powder / milagu thool – 1/4 tsp
- salt – pinch
1. Collect fresh vilva leaves, wash and keep it ready.
2. Boil 2 cups of water in a tea pan along with vilva leaves. Let it reduce to one cup.
3. Colour of the leaves and water will change. Let it reduce to one cup.
4. Filter it and separate the leaves.
5. Add cumin powder, pepper powder and salt.
6. You can drink it when it is warm.
