Paneer cutlet recipe | paneer tikki | paneer snacks is a delicious healthy snacks for school going kids. Paneer  is one of the most important source of protein and calcium. These cutlets can be shallow fried or deep fried in oil. You can also bake these cutlets after spraying little oil over it. Cutlets were coated with poha for crispness. We have already prepared few dishes using paneer, such as

Paneer bhurji,

Shahi Paneer,

Matar Paneer,

Paneer Butter Masala,

Aloo Paneèr,

Hara Channa Paneer,

Coriander Paneer masala,

  Palak Paneer

and Gobi Paneer Masala.

Now let us see how to prepare Paneer cutlet.

Paneer cutlet recipe – Ingredients:-
  • paneer  – 300 grams
  • potato – 1 (cooked)
  • green chilly – 1 to 2 (finely chopped)
  • ginger garlic paste / inji poondu viludhu – 1 tsp
  • cumin / seeragam – 1/2 tsp
  • onion – 1 (finely chopped. Optional)
  • turmeric powder  / manjal podi – 1/4 tsp
  • garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
  • coriander leaves or curry leaves – 2 tsp (finely chopped)
  • salt – to taste
  • powdered poha – 1 cup (this can be substituted by bread crumbs)
Paneer cutlet recipe – Method of preparation:-

1. Firstly you can buy paneer in a shop or prepare your own paneer at home. After that using a vegetable grater, grate it and keep it ready.

2. Mean while cook potato in a pressure cooker or in an open pan till it breaks.

3. Secondly powder poha / puffed rice which is called as pori in tamil and keep it ready. This can be substituted by bread crumbs.

4. Thirdly remove skin from potato and mash it. Chop green chillies, curry leaves and keep all the other spices together in a tray. I did not add chopped onion which is optional.

5. Add grated paneer and mix well to form the dough for the cutlet.

6. Finally make cutlets in the shapes you wish and coat it with poha powder.

7. Similarly make many cutlets and fry in a pan with required oil. I shallow fried the cutlets in a fry pan.

8. Turn the sides and fry till it turns golden brown on all sides. Finally remove and keep it on a tissue to remove excess oil.

9. Serve hot with desired chutney or sauce.
