Paal kolukattai |Milk Modak recipe |பால் கொழுக்கட்டை செய்முறை

Ganesh chathurthi is nearing and we all were in need of kolukattai/modak recipes. Many of us were hunting for different recipes through net. Paal kolukattai |Milk Modak recipe | பால் கொழுக்கட்டை செய்முறை will be the tastiest recipe, which I share with you all during this Ganesha festival, to prepare as prasadham.

This tastiest Paal kolukattai recipe is prepared with rice flour, milk and sugar. This is another type of sweet kolukattai which every one will like. We add milk and cardomompowder to improve the taste and flavour of the recipe. It’s a very easy to prepare recipe if you follow the below instructions carefully and give a  try.

you can also garnish with roasted and sliced nuts to the paal kolukattai which is optional. These kolukattais were served usually in cups with spoons, because the kolukattais were floated in sweetened milk.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

To serve: 4 persons


  • rice flour – 1 cup
  • sugar – 1 cup
  • milk – 1 cup
  • coconut – 1 cup
  • cardomom powder – pinch
Ingredients – rice flour, sugar, coconut and milk


1. Boil water and add to rice flour when hot. Knead well and make it into a smooth dough. Put it in a murukku maker and press to get a long rope. Cut it into one inch pieces to make kolukattai as shown in the photo. (You can also make round ball like kolukattai if you wish)

2.  Extract coconut milk from the grated coconut.

3. Heat milk in a container. When it’s boiling put the kolukattai little by little. When it gets cooked, kolukattai will come up.

4. Now add sugar. After sugar melts add coconut milk and cardamom powder and switch of the stove.

5. Serve this Paal kolukattai along with milk in cups with spoons. Enjoy the taste.
