Mango flower chutney recipe is a tasty side dish which you can prepare with Maampoo during its season and serve along with idli, dosa or rice.

Mango flower chutney recipe – Ingredients:-
- maampoo / mango flower – 1 cup
- red chillies / vara milagai – 2 number
- green chillies / pachai milagai – 2 number
- onion / vengayam – 1 (chopped)
- grated coconut / thengai thuruval – 1/4 cup
- jaggery / vellam – 1/4 cup
- tamarind paste / puzhi – 1/2 tsp
- salt / uppu – to taste

Mango flower chutney recipe – Method of preparation:-
1. Firstly collect one cup of mango flowers remove from its stalks, wash and keep it ready.
2. Secondly grate coconut, jaggery and keep all the other ingredients ready.
3. Thirdly heat one tea spoon of oil in a fry pan and add red chillies as well as green chillies.

4. After that add chopped onions and fry for a while.

5. Further add mango flowers and fry well till they shrink.

6. Similarly add grated coconut and mix well.

7. Switch off the stove and cool down to room temperature. After cooling transfer the fried ingredients to a mixie jar and add grated jaggery, salt and tamarind paste.

8. Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste.

9. Finally heat one tea spoon of oil in a fry pan, add mustard seeds, followed by urad dal, asafoetida and curry leaves. When they splutter, stop the flame and pour the seasoning into the chutney. Serve as side dish along with idli, dosa or rice.
