Cucumber juice recipe or vellarikkai juice is low in calories but high in vitamins and minerals and on the other hand, it promotes hydration, helps in weight loss, manages stress, lowers blood sugar, supports digestion and heart health. These cucumbers are called as “vellarikkai” in tamil and as “kakdi” in Hindi. Cucumbers were often eaten raw as salads or as pickles and now we are preparing a juice with it.
Botanical name for cucumber is Cucumis sativus. It is a creeping vine that bears cucumiform fruits that are used as vegetables. The cucumber is originally from South Asia and now grows in many continents. Many different types of cucumber are traded. In addition have posted one photo of the vegetable which is very common in India and it tastes so good.

Cucumber juice recipe – Ingredients:-
- cucumber / vellarikkai / kakdi – 1/4 kg
- salt – to taste
- water – as needed
- ice cubes – few

Cucumber juice recipe – Method:-
1. First of all scrap the skin of cucumbers and chop them into medium size pieces. Secondly grind them in a mixie along with required salt.
2. Thirdly filter the ground juice through a filter. Rinse the jar with a cup of water and filter that water too. After that press the ground mix using a ladle to extract the juice completely. During this processes you can collect clear juice in the container below.
3. Finally add ice cubes as needed and serve chilled.
