Amla in sugar syrup recipe


  • Amla/gooseberry/ nellikkaai – 1/4 kg
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup


   1. Wash and pat dry goose berries. Cut into slices and remove the seeds.

   2. Put Kadaai in low flame and add gooseberry slices to it along with sugar.

   3. Stir often and turn the sides. Now sugar will start to melt.

   4. Keep in low flame and stir until it turns colour.

   5. Switch off, cool down and store it in a container. Enjoy when ever needed.
